We love purple stripe garlic and this one is a gem rich in history and flavor. Pehoski Purple is a marbled purple stripe garlic with strong raw flavor, higher sugars, and an earthy after taste. It is classic purple stripe with 7-9 cloves, we find that Pehoski has more uniform plumper cloves which deviates from other purple stripes we carry and stores well. This garlic traces it's roots to the polish community at Stevens Point, Wisconsin which is also known as \"little Poland\" with immigrants from the 1850's settling down in the area and forming a large agricultural community. Chris Pehoski nurtured the variety since the 1970's where it was passed on to Seed Savers Exchange. Our strain comes from Keene Garlic. This is year 3 for this variety on our farm and we are looking forward to seeing how it adapts to our area. Available in culinary 1\/2 lb and 1 lb sizes.
