Our largest and most productive variety! Katterman Garlic produces large heads with plump cloves. Typically 4-5 cloves per head. Named after Rick Katterman of Deerborn Michigan who gifted us his seed stock of this unknown porcelain variety when we began farming. Katterman is our top pick for any garden or farmer looking to establish a garlic crop of their own.
The flavor is spicy when raw and mellows out when cooked. With it's large size, this is a favorite for easy peeling and roasting. Grows very well in cold climates, it's our most vigorous grower surpassing slightly in size to the German Hardy Porcelain.
Katterman stores well 6-8 months in proper conditions.
Culinary size typically has 6-8 heads per pound
